This has very good specs. If you can not afford the MSB Analogue DAC ($ USD), and, correspondingly the Ayre MXR Monoblock Amplifiers ($ USD), this one is for you.
It has very good case design, like the NuPrime Audio IDA-8 Integrated Amplifier ($ USD) and NuPrime DAC-10H DAC ($ USD).
Internally, it has very good case case design, as well, like you would see (channels &c) in the Ayre MX-R and MXR Twenty Monoblock Amplifiers. And not in inferior designs like the Ayre ..., even.
It has very good detailed sound - liquid -, like you would expect in the MSB Analogue DAC ($ USD), and upper-eschelon DA converters.
The Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) is Bryston 28B3 Monoblock Power Amplifer ($ USD)-like at -134 dB via the XLR output.
The Crosstalk, at > -151 dB is amazing!
Because of the price, you would most likely couple this with correspondingly-priced components. Something like the Wyred 4 Sound MiNT ($1,499.00 USD) if you were to have both (use) both if you were a reviewer, or most likely, the Wyred 4 Sound MMC Series Multi-Channel (5- Channel) Amplifier ($1,999.00 USD).

If you are a CD traditionalist, it would provide something of the comfort of the stylized proposition.
With 221 watts (@8 ohms) per channel or 368 watts (@4 ohms) per channel (that's 3 more than 365 days a year!) it's more than your typical 200-watt per channel power amplifier.

Later, when you like you can add the two additional channels (7-channel) to get you a 3-way amplification system. You will need to add a pair of Bryston 10B-STD Electronic Crossover ($ USD) or actually a pair, however. Or a pair of Krell KBX Crossover's, preferably.
With 4 dB of system gain, but only 90 dB SNR, however, this would be like taking a salary cut back to $90,000.00 USD, moving out of the Bay Area, to get yourself cheaper rent.
Likely at this point, you would be moving from Apogee Duetta's (from your wife's Ayre) to Apogee Diva's. (Krell KSA-300S Power Amplifier, $)
