Woo Audio WA7 Fireflies Review

The Woo Audio WA7 Fireflies ($999.00 USD, $1,199.00 CDN locally) does not have a decent DAC.

We've asked Woo Audio if they can upgrade the RCA sockets on the back. The WA7 does not have a solid anything.

We've reviewed the WA7 with the WA7tp ($1,398.00 USD / $1,699.00 CDN locally) and have never heard worse sound on a Hi Fi unit. Obviously in the days of mid-fi childhood there were some nasty mass-fi receivers amoung the population.

Now, the WA7 comes with a very fine power supply. The upper-case work is fine, as is the back, and the power-supply unit. We find it reminiscent of the Aragon 24K pre-amplifier, the Threshold T3 - T2 in stature, and somewhat of the Krell.

The KBL, KRC et al.

Can you not pick a better Hi Fi product for ... redemption?

Were this a cooking show, such as The Next Food Network Star, we'd choose the WA7 as the contender to come back for the final : it's good the most promise of the failures, based on it's initial impression.

You could see the WA7tp  as your go-to desktop amplifier.

We'd like to see the WA7 as our desktop poppit.
