MRA Worthy: The Tidal Assoluta Monoblock Amplifiers

Though not 1000 WPC, the Tidal La Asolluta Monoblock Amplifier still weighs in at a respectable 187 (85 kg) lbs. This puts it, in boxing terms, in the Cruserweight (light heavy-weight) category, whereas the Dan D'Agostino Momentum Monoblock at 95 (45 kg) lbs you could say is amateur Pinweight, and 60 WPC (300 vs 360), by comparison, less.

Is this MRA (Krell Master Reference Amplifier) worthy?

TIDAL Releases Latest Products at Munich High-End Show

Well, it is a bit of change of pace for Tidal. Many of you will know of Tidal from the Jay Z and Beyonce (and audiophile press pushed) acquired streaming service, while we're more familiar with their excellent Preos (-D) and Impluse (390 W) Monoblock... not to mention the Camira.

You'll notice the lessening of 30 WPC, along with the addition of one foot, as compared to the Tidal Audio Impulse Monoblock, which makes a departure for Tidal.

The front panel seems to be of lower quality, from the photo, though the side panel seems nice.

Should you be a Tidal user, can you do without 30 WPC, better corners, aesthetically, and, a power button? It seems Tidal was influenced by NAIM's NAP S1 Statement Integrated Amplifier with regards to the change in design direction.

It's an amp that looks best on it's side, we'd say. We'll leave the boxing aside, and see how it is with it's La Assoluta brother, the Tidal Audio Akira Semi Diamond Loudspeaker.
