Gaydar
$400 isn't much to spend for an item. It is for a power cord, however. We're not talking audiophile territory, here. For $400, you can get yourself a Fostex HP-A4 DAC.

The Dynamic Design AnnaLyric PC-1 Power Cord ($400.00 USD) features a PEEK jacket, and is referred to as DD by Neil Gadner, who blossoms it "a personal fave."
We'd have to be a gadfly (μύωψ) to associate Gader with Gay. The power cable isn't Gay. It's rather ok. There's a cheap plastic screwing mechanism (Hubbell), cheap copper pins, and inexpensively plated - but poorly made - screws.
Aside from the serial number, it's the sort of device you'd expect to see for $100 at Home Depot.
