Going Mac

Should you be satisfied with 16-bit sound, a basic Mac with 3 GB hard drive is a good way to go. The iTunes application will serve as your primary music server, and you can add add-ons to improve music latency.

The iMac at $5000 USD is a great application for music, while the Mac Pro at $10,000 USD will serve audiophiles with a need for cohlea-level technology.

Each Promise Pegasus 2 R8 24TB will add $3,599.00 USD to either system, while each Sharp 32" 4K display (necessary for Mac Pro option), will add $3,595.00 USD.

Those with an Audi R8, will naturally want to go for the Pegasus option.

As the compact disk (16 bit, 44 kHz) is about 700 MB each 3 TB will hold 4285 compact disks, enough for the music enthusiast.

A SACD is about 4.7 GB so you'll get just 5000 DSD recordings for that Pegasus 2 R8 choice.
