Getting Mono

Audio is largely a sedentary hobby. As such, it pairs well with large consumption of alcohol. A former drinker of Johnny Walker ($300 USD/Blue), will want to see something nicer on the front panel than the shiny aluminum (AA) (Acoustic Arts) face plate. Likely, they will want to see something glass and liquid cooled. Rising bubbles, giving you something to look at! Now, do they want to be reminded of getting mono a second time? ...Take the next component. There's nothing wrong with the back. The top, however, wouldn't a glass Octoberfest Stein better adorn the top than the imprint.

Inside, you can see it's a very professional pre-amplifier, and the amp is likely lovely as well. What we have to ask, however, is what is the designer going for? Is it an industrial imprint, with the front-plate screws representing rivots? They are not present on the pre-amplifier.

As for the face, wouldn't at least a gold eagle, like that on their Omega Speedmaster Professional (69) better suit their taste? At least it could be plated, and the knobs could likely be plated 24k to at least match the back plate.
