Well, if we are to recommend one staunch loudspeaker this Christmas season, let it be the Von Schweikert Audio VR-55 Aktive Loudspeaker ($60,000.00 USD). As Marshall McLuhan said, "The Medium is the Message."
Not to massage the truth, the Von Schweikert Aktive is not Active: it's not an active Loudspeaker.
You would pair it with the Linn Klimax Solo Monoblocks ($ USD), although, in "Aktive" configuration it, the Von Schweikert VR-55 "Aktive" - only - requires 200 watts. An extra 300 would do. A Linn Klimax Exakt DSM ($ USD) and Linn Klimax Exaktbox ($ USD) - possibly - would thus complete the picture.
Linn thus would have a Korma.
Higher-Fi'ers may wish to investigate (look at) the VR-11SE Mk II (963 lbs, $225,000.00 USD).
