B&O Beolit 12

Getting into music, we plan on purchasing 3 Bang & Oluffsen BeoLit 12 players. They would work well in our office, bathroom and bedroom, and should we take one outside, the remaining two would adequately serve as backup.

We had intended on purchasing a single unit, however, finding the price higher than expected at our local B&O Dealer, we purchased a coffee machine that day, for the amount expected.

What we like about the BeoLit 12 is that it plays music: our music.

That is, the pop styling of Justin Bieber and Die Antwoord, equally adeptly. We've listened to quite a few systems at varying price points, south of $300,000 and this was the only unit that sounded equally as good as the Sennheiser CX 500 headphones and iPhone 4 with this material.

We had hoped to listen to the Focal Grande Utopia III EM, Bryston 28BSST2 and Nordst Odin system with this music, but were not given the opportunity. Hence, our review, and publication.

As for the coffee machine, the unit we purchased was the Philips / Seaco Intellia. It's a rather poor unit. Having reviewed the various machines on the market, we can whole-hearedly say that if you are looking for an all-in-one unit for your home, go with the Jura Ena 9 for $700 more.

Honestly, we have no real use for the BeoLit 12, other than listening to Bieber and Antwoord, and perhaps having the chance to listen to mastered serious playback of our our music on a home-reference material unit.

The BeoLit 12 is sufficiently awesome on the Ghetto Blaster scale, about 9. The BeoPlay A9 is about 11. (Something you'd expect for $25,000 USD today).

We never liked B&O, however, they've made great leaps and bounds. So well we've awarded them our Company of the Year! Way to go, B&O!

As for the Lit, The only thing we have to choose is the 3rd colour. :)

Thanks, guys!
