The Absolute Sound has just published additional photos of the Linn Selekt DSM Network Music Player (£4,000.00 GBP) and it's really nice - to see in full.
This is a bit much, as we've done it a bit too much, what's with all this dividing by 6.02, but let's look at the in-depth specification.

With a Dynamic Range of 117 dB (that's iFi Territory) - iFi Micro iDSD DAC ($499.00 USD) - it's not a 24, but an 18-bit device in today's era.
So $7,150.00 USD vs $500.
Linn LP (circa 1972) wasn't the first time we've seen the Linn Marker.
That was Roger Linn courtesy of Linn Electronics and the Linn Drum (1982 - 1985), circa 85.
It had polyphony of 12 and timber-ality of 15. Synthesis of 8-bits with 28 to 35 kHz. That's amazing!
You would of heard it, courtesy of Michael Jackson's "Thriller", "Take on Me" of Aha!, or Prince's "1999", likely!
Maybe even Tears for Fear's "Shout."
Creating the drums, electronic, for such albums, and more ... into (not back into) the future, it was $2,995.00 USD.
So the Linn Select DSM Network Music Player is a DAC for a Psychiatrist, yep. But how about the business for a Psychiatrist of Analyzing musicians?
Musicians such as Micahel Jackson, Aha, Tears for Fears, and Prince! That's a good business.
You could bill at over $500 an hour.
Without the Katalyst DAC Upgrade ($1,950.00 USD) that's 114 dB. Still 18.
