Let's look at Polk Audio.
There are two movies of note and of interest out right now:
1) "The Polka King", starring Jack Black, of Nacho Libre and School of Rock fame (a bit of a mocumentary).
2) The actual thing (a documentary featuring a fat guy with a beer), but which is more interest, because it shows and stars (and shows footage of) the actual, good looking, guy.
Today, precluding this, we looked at The Macan ($48,750.00 CDN) by John Hardy. It featured a good head (the best we had seen of the Macan by John Hardy), and also featured baltic amber.
The item was 1 of 1. The collection had been in it's second season / year.
The head could easily be removed, and fixed with a clasp on top, by any competent jeweler. As such, it would make a great pendant, and would pair well with an 18K wheat chain of small mm (about 5 or 6 mm) also by John Hardy. Yellow gold, of course.
We suggest the eyes, which are emeralds of light colour (however artistically including somehow black center elements of feline eye shape) be replaced with higher quality (though less artistic) emeralds of dark colour, similar to Cartier.
The head is hollow, of good design. We like it more we must admit than a Cartier panther of similar (though more key-fob, on the back), design. It is reminiscent of a certain David Yurman (the hollow mounting or setting arrangement) pendant, which featured a 54.5K black opal.
The tongue and ring bit, which are grasped by the Macan's teeth can be easily (though through a jeweler) removed.
The Baltic Amber necklace parts can be easily removed, and separated and placed into drawers.
The clasp, remaining, can be kept (it is fascinating, scintillating, really) as a bit of a "Faberge Egg." or easter-egg if you will ... to the whole arrangement.
What a great, and amazing ... value!
In The Polka King (and ... ) you will note that the owner (a comedian, or a musician guy) keeps a gift shop.
It features prominently some Baltic Amber
Consider The Macan (at $48,750.00 CDN) to be worthy of an inclusion in your collection of macabre gifts.
Yours,
John Paul Fiket

Note: Regarding the price. A Canadian price of $48,750.00 CD. $ 40,000 being the DAT (Digital Audio Tape) standard recording -and- playback frequency. $ 750 being symbolic of it (the head) being 18K. A great price! Total Price: $48,750.00 CDN.
An additional $10,000.00 CDN to $12,000.00 CDN should be allocated to the wheat chain of John Hardy. Bringing a total to around $60K CDN. About $24,000.00 CDN gets you a 5 mm.
Quality: 10/100 [Our first impression was to award a quality rating of 50/100
Value: 100/100
Yours,
John
