They say it is a Headphone Amplifier. But is it, or is it not?
With 250 mW it is 1/4 of one thought.
With a Frequency Response (FR) of DC – 70 kHz (+ 0 / –1 dB), though, it is pretty sought! You would want better Frequency Response (FR) as a DAC, though for a speaker, 70 kHz is pretty almost on spot (< 100 kHz, however...).
With a Frequency Response (FR) of DC - 200 kHz (+ 0 / – 3dB, +/- 1.5 dB), though, however, would it be good enough for a main stereo system (as a Meridian device), for speakers? That's pretty fantastic, for them... +/- 1.5 dB.
The Crosstalk of <= 70 dB @ 1 kHz is pretty bad, though. But speakers, in a room, have cross-talk of their ... own! :D
We recommend a 60 Watt Power Amplifier, though.
So the Output Noise of < –100dBV (CCIR or A weighted ... which is terrible) might be acceptable.
Furthermore, the Volume with precise tracking, 70 dB range, is fantastic!!!
For those who can not afford our Recommend Component, DAC with Volume Control, the MSB Analogue DAC, ($ USD), the Meridian Prime Headphone Amplifier may be acceptable.
