When you get an Expert Pro 1000, you really get only one Expert Pro amplifier, which can be used, independently. The other is a slave, which must be cast away, if only one box is desired.
We would like to say Audiogon.
What of the value of watts?
Well, that's a good question.
To be equal (to compare) that would be best to be 1000 watts at 8 ohms, and properly doubling (or at least functioning like a Bryston SST2 level amplifier.).
Well, that is a two box solution.
Let us say it should at least function (for us) as a Bryston 14B amplifier, which is the minimum needed for the PSB Stratus Gold. A pair of 7Bs is better.
Before, Devialet offered the D-Premiere. What of the D440? It was better, because it had a beautiful case.

What if you are a Star or a Pro? Devialet now offers the Phantom, Gold or Silver, which is an integrated solution. Compared to the Expert 1000 Pro (in terms of watts), it is better. But if you are an audio fan, you may wish to go the way or route of the Expert.
