B&W 800 Series Diamond D3 Loudspeaker Review

800 D3 - Design 800 D3

As opposed to the B&W 802 D3 ($26,000.00 CDN), the 800 Series Diamond D3 Loudspeaker ($36,000.00 CDN) has just the right body.

On the previous series (800 Diamond 2), the 800 Diamond 2 looked too fat, on account of the size of it's drivers in the cabinet, while the 802 D2 looked just right.

Spending $36,000.00 CDN on a loudspeaker is cheap. Spending $26,000.00 CDN on a loudspeaker is too much. What of the $15,000.00 CDN that can be had by buying the 802 Diamond (D2)?

After all, on the previous series, Ambramovitch had the 800 Diamond 2's in Quad Configuration for his yaught. Some dealers say he now has Elec? What country are you dealers from?

In our review of the B&W 802 D3 Loudspeaker ($ USD), we noted that Hi Fi Centre now has too small rooms. What was the point of going there / going in?

Hi Fi Centre now has the 800 Series Diamond D3 Loudspeaker in Satin White finish. The colour is all-right, but the face looks ugly.

Hi Fi Centre also has the best B&O room in town (better even than Commercial Electronics, who had Vancouver's first B&O only store room, and the Sound Room also sells B&O now, though they don't have a special room).

It's interesting that they (Hi Fi Centre) also now have the Focal Sopra, just like Commercial Electronics.

In this respect, it's a bit funny.

What's the point in going in one dealer, if they have products available at another (of course you want to order your products from a certain dealer)?

In the old days, audio was more federated. Certain dealers had certain factions of products, which went well with each other. Each dealer had their own choice and federation of brands.

It's a bit like Europe today. In the past, every country had it's own unique people and culture.

Merkel: What's the point of a million refugees in Germany?

In the past, every country had it's own unique people and culture.

Was it did you destroy a country, to get it's men?

The back, which we noted previously, should of indicated an internal amplification section and active cross-over (ala Linn: after all B&W owns Classe), looks just fine with nice fins, up close. It even, with the round bit, looks a bit like a Grandfather Clock. The terminals look very nice, even prefect, may we say even.
