Martin Logan Motion 60XT Speaker Review

MartinLogan Motion 60XTBecause these speakers have no bass they are absolutely perfect for the apartment, where any bass would disturb the neighbours, particularly below. If you are a guitar player, they or the Lawrence Audio Violin (another ribbon tweeter design) would be suitable for playback.

Whereas the Lawrence Violins are $7500.00, the Martin Logan 60XT Loudspeakers are only $3,000 a pair. This is more than you would find others at Best Buy, though you would find these in Best Buy, or your better audio retailer, such, as if you are in Vancouver, Pat's Audio Art (where we listened to them).

Suitable for the $400,000 to $1M+ condo (600 to 800 sq. ft). in our estimation, or more, if you particularly like their presentation, the Martin Logan 60XT may serve as an affable substitute for the electrostatic Martin Logan.

Alternatives include the Martin Logan Theos, which is also ridiculously under-priced, though has less bass.

Look for a loudspeaker like the Revel Ultima Studio or Salon, with extension to at least 20 Hz if you are fan of factual bass, or stick with the 60XT an a pair of subwoofers like the B&W PV1 @ $1,500 ea.
