Let's say you leave $10,000 in a "high interest" daily savings position, just to see the interest. You decide to do so for the period of one year so that you at least have the pleasure of seeing the numbers go up.
After a period of 4 months, you notice you have made $25.00 CDN. That's amazing! Then a few seconds later, you realize it's $25.00. Aghast. What about inflation?
A few months pass, and you notice you have made $36.00 CDN. The interest was high the first month, and then has gone down. It amounts to $6.00 / month. Tidy income.
You then go on to look at larger numbers. :)
