Apple Retina 4K Review iMac 21.5" 1500
The Apple iMac Retina 4K Computer ($1,499.00 USD) looks great. At 21.5" you'd expect it to be great. The problem is the aspect ratio. 4/3 is required for professional work.
About The Stupid Resolutions
Should you be interested in movies and 16x9 replay, it is interesting to see the pixles come out at 256 PPIx by 256 PPIy (were the display 16" x 9", 16x9) - perfectly square.
It doesn't matter, the memory, the size of the hard drive, the processor, etc. You could connect it to a Mac Mini and use that - use it as a terminal screen.
With 16 GB, the price is $1,999.00 USD. $1.799.00 USD with a 3.1 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 (default) vs a 3.3 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 with the same 16 GB (8 GB RAM, default).
It doesn't even matter 4K (4096 x 2304) vs 5K. VS the iMac 27-inch with Retina 5K ($1,799.00 USD) (5120 by 2880 pixels) - you get a pixel density of 217 PPI. The same as the 5K, due to the smaller screen. So that means that your text will be readable vs. a typical non-retina LCD screen.
Your iPhone 6S Plus (almost double density) will have a more legible 401 PPI (iPhone 6S, 5S, Apple Mini Retina 4/3/2, 326 PPI) but you can still get work done.
Your Apple MacBook Pro 15" will have a PPI of 220 (2880-by-1800 pixels), while your Apple MacBook Pro 13" will have 227 - and the same, 2560 x 1600 that you are used to working on with a Dell U3014.
Can you scale down a 30" non-Retina display to 21.5" for readability?
