The Scarf and Aedle

Has anyone noticed the price of scarves?

At first, it was only a few places offering premium scarves. Hermes. Ferragamo. You could pay your $1,200 for Nina Ricci, sure, but you could get a decent scarf for $300.

Now, everyone and their cousin is offering premium priced scarves. M0851 has got in on the action. $600 or $800 is not uncommon.

And what of shoes? $300 used to get you a fair pair, but now $500.00 or $700.00 will get you a passable excuse at a sub-$10,000 set of John Lobbs.

Could we fault the manufactures? Could we fault the entire VC?

It behooves me to find stuff that is nice.

It is in this vein that we talk of the Aedle. They are a poor manufacturer of mid-priced fashion-forward headphones. You can pick up a set for $549.00 CAN. Today, we noticed a set for $449.

Should you be so suited, you could pick up a pair and wear them instead of scarves, or, given the sound, wear one to hold down your scarf, given the price of your scarves, also.

Sure, a set of Lobbs would provide better value for the foot. A nice Oxford or Calisto, not to Venton.

If had $50,000.00 in your scarf budget, say, a nice pair of Adele VK-1 Valkyrie's would be a perfect substitute for scarf rings.

Otherwise, a fine wedding ring is size 11 or 12 will do fine.

It's time to marry the manufactures. Take better care of them.

You can do better than this John Watson.
