Do you live in an apartment building? Wonder what the person in 402 looks like?
The back of the Tannoy Reveal 402 looks nice. Nicer than our KEF 300. It includes a balanced input, and a nice voltage select, not to mentioned a good power rocker, and a nice volume control.
It does not include a USB input, however. Let us not forget, the 1/4" unbalanced input.
Using a minijack from a professional device leads to breakage. Witness our experience with the Prosumer Sony TCD-D7 DAT or anyone's experience with the Discman. Use it, and you will be bringing the device back to the shop. Not a bad operation.
You'll enjoy the sound so much, you'll be happy to have it repaired, but you'll wonder why they included such a shitty connector.
Distributor markup (30%) is such to account for your warranty service. It would be such if products were designed nicer to begin with.
Perhaps KEF will release a nicer version of it's X300A. For now, this Tannoy Reveal 402 sure looks nicer.
Ok, we don't like the front+ at all.
+ It's about what you'd see in a Pro Audio Mixing Desk. You'll be better sticking to a Focal SM6Be, at minimum. The KRK poses some competition.
