Hedphone Update - 2.7

In our mind, nothing says both human drive and human idiocy than the cables of the Head Fi world today.

5ft OFHC Custom Hifiman cable

Man's will is a very fine thing. Man's logic is another thing unto that regard.

Let's look at the size of the connectors and the junctions. Is there honestly a need for two XLR connectors in a headphone cable? Yes, six lines is a very fine thing. There are six prongs in two XLR connectors. It's good to be grounded. It's good to be differential, for that matter. But what about the size?

Now let's look at this ViaBlue junction box. Is it to make one's penis look larger? Has anyone ever seen the size of wire in a voice coil?

Ok, we are seeing merely the Hot Rod mentality.

But these cables would be better used tying on a surf board to the top of your woodie (wood sided station wagon preferred by California surfers) than they would to your upper-end (non ubber-end) headphone set.

The HD 800 is a very fine thing. But can one not match they cables to the device? The HE-400i user likes the into the headphone look, so that cable is not a bad match, but look at the stupid Furez box.

The Hi Fi Man logo is stupid, for that matter. It would be better on a Mac Truck. We do like how in the photo, at least the angled gold bit, which was a recent change for Hi Fi Man, comes out. We've put this connector down, previously, for looking like a garden hose connector.

Now we quite like Hi Fi Man headphones. The HE 300. The HE 500. The HE 1000 is no headphone, but it is stunning audibly.

We haven't put in Audeze lately, but how about some Toxic Cables?
