Going Tube: The Law of Diminished Opportunities

The sense of hearing diminishes with age. For those thinking of going tube, then, here are our suggestions.

1) BAT VK-75 SE (VK-150 SE Monoblock Amplifiers) - $10,500.00 CAD Commercial Electronics
2) Rogue Audio Chronus Magnum Integrated Amplifier - $2,195.00 USD

Pair each with a DAC such as the Auralic Vega.

NB

While tube amplifiers are noted as having great warmth (second order even harmonic distortion artifactor) they are not noted as having great specification.

Particularly, you will find they often have high (and low) frequency roll-off.

You'll find that audiophiles as a group, get brighter with age.

This is not to say that they are not (tube technology) capable of such. You will find radio transmitters as having used tubes, nuclear submarines, and should you survive until the end-of-days and have your own source of power, you may very well unlike your neighbours survive with a working music system.
Note: We use terms like CAD vs CDN to routinely imply we are being a "cad." The VK-150-SE is 150 watts, while the RACM is 90.
