The Better Escape

Just look at the back of this DEQX. It's not an analogue preamplifier, but a digital box, unfortunately. In the lab days, Deskview X was the name of a system for viewing X Windows on an Intel PC.

In Fi circles, Q is a name for slope. The slope of a cross-over curve, in Hi Fi.

Having had our PC Pavilion go down, we've lost our Black Beauty. We've lost our Theta Dreadnaught.

We are looking for something black and beautiful, and it certainly wouldn't be this DEQX. Without the LCD, it might however...

Just look at the cut. Given one has an iPhone, who wants an LCD on their component?

A sub-standard, non-retina one at that? One could give some foray into professional temptation and realize that it is useful to have a display, but it would be much more elegant, if like Meridian, or The Meridian Solos Media System, particularly, it came with a removable LCD.

At $6,495.00 USD one would expect that. It does pack a bunch of technology, however.

Actually, at $6,495.00 USD it would be quite inexpensive.

The Mark Levinson No. 326S for example, goes for $10,700.00 USD.
