Maytag Bravos

Bravos® Extra-Large Capacity HE Top Load Washer - 5.0 cu. ft. (IEC)

One thing we'll say about the Maytag is that it has a good drum. Like an Atomic Floyd Hi Def Drum. It doesn't have a good lid, however. We'll not keep the lid on that.

On average, it costs us one-thousand-dollars ($1000.00 CDN) to write a review. For $1000.00 CDN, we purchased the Maytag Bravos Extra-Large Capacity HE Top Washer - 5.0 CU FT ($949.00 CDN / $999.00 USD 4 5.3) along with a dyer.

As a review item, well keep it for some month, and pass it on. Now the Maytag has what they call MCT (Maytag Commercial Technology). That means not professional in the slightest, and slang rather (colloquial speech) instead for being a pro-sumer unit.

It's good to consume. It's good to pro-sume. Not really.

It also has something ridiculous called Clean Washer with affresh.

The drum, you could literally put a baby in. It's much like a babies swing. Not like a drum at all. It lacks a center, however.

It won't fill with water unless you choose deep water wash, however. Do you pay for water? Don't you bathe with milk already? What's the point of the eco-feature? The point of washing is to immerse your clothes in water, and then clean with dilution.

The only nice thing about the Maytag unit (aside from the pleasant but ridiculous control panel) is the way it fills (or rather does not fill) with water. It's a bit like the shower method of launching you'd use for your downstairs swimming pool. Not good looking in the same way, but at least reminiscent.

Could it was your Rolex Submariner? Could it wash some diapers?

Could it wash our silver jewelry, rather. We'll get back to you on this.

A good ultra-sonic silver cleaner with decent capacity is about $5000.00 USD and rather unsightly, unless your are Muckshar Arambesh. Could this clean your silver jewlery? We'll get back to you on this one.

Highly unrecommended. Get yourself a Samsung or an LG at the $5,000.00 USD price point or stick to something lower with a metal top. Forget all the sensors and do dads.

Let's look at one such item. The Maytag Bravos 5.0 IEC. We paid $1000.00 CDN to review the Maytag 5.0 CU ft IEC Bravos XL ($949.00 CDN) washer along with a dryer. We'll use it for some month, and then pass it on. It's time to get something from Samsung or LG.Bravos® Extra-Large Capacity HE Top Load Washer - 5.0 cu. ft. (IEC)

Forget Sears or Rodebuck.

That's hanging that money.
