Gryphon Atilla Integrated Amplifier Review

It would be better if it were called Antilla. That would be a finer fine. Perhaps it can be considered a proto-typian of Nietzschian values. It is Class AB by design. At 100W it is about equal to our Sony TA-N55ES ($580.00 USD, 110W) in supply. It applies three more power levels to the display than our Sony TA-E2000ESD, which includes DAC at $1,400.00 USD, 1999.

With the Gryphon Audio Atilla, you are half way to a Devialet. That is, you have an integrated amplifier, without a DAC. Without an ADC, as well. At 100 watts, it's power if just less than one half that of the original D-Premier.

It's signal to noise (SN) ratio is poor (88 dB).

It does not quite power double. At 370W in 2 ohms, it almost arrives at power doubling. On the other hand, it's bandwidth is spectacular: 0-350 kHz is more than enough for a tweeter. Engineers often apply safety by a factor of 4. 80 kHz out to be more than enough. 192 kHz sampling will be handled with aplomb here. 384 kHz for that margin.

You could say that it is Hi Fi for the common taste.

Is there anything else to consider?

Pairing: One King of Denmark Cigar, $4,500.00 USD / 30.

You might want a Devialet ($16,500.00 USD), if you are more interested in common sense.
