Ayre MX-R Monoblock Ampliifer
I think the thing we like most about the Ayre MX-R is that it resembles the Commodore 1541 disk drive. If you were a Commodore enthusiast, you likely had two or more. How about that, for fun? :)
The Ayre MX-R is a natural monoblock amplifier. You can not say a wrong thing about it.
Should you find one (a pair) for $10,000.00 CDN, you should go take it. It's a snatch of a deal.
You could not go wrong, having ten or (10) more. That's high compliment - back in the BBS days, guys had as many floppy disc, and hard disc drives - indeed.
Now, back on the case. It's rather rapt. A knuckle test will get you knocking.
Inside, encased as they are, the square power transformers are rather cute. The power cord makes a byline separating the capacitors, and the unit is roughly symmetrically laid out. Aside from the upper-high end today (Qualia - and they followed Ayre here), you'll be hard pressed to find a better cased unit.
Now the Ayre can be hooked up with great elocution. Give it to your Wilson for fun.
Stereo guys will know that it takes more than a few channels for two or more.
Ten or 12 will be sufficient.
