Ok, these amps aren't single-ended. The Reference 250 provides matched pairs of KT120's, along with the 6H30. Only the 6550C is single.
Tube Depot calls the KT120 ($47.48, TungSol) "the most powerful audio power tube in production today" - it's a pentode, baby. As for the Audio Research, going bus-style, two are drivers, and the whole thing is a 6-seater.
Those not on a diet may consider the Sovtek 6H30Pi as the ideal meal replacement. $29.95 USD.
