The new MacBook is a beatuiful object. It's available in Gold, Space Grey, and Silver. As an object, it was preceded by the MacBook Air, which was/is a beautiful object in it's own right. We like the new MacBook for it's attention to substance, or lack, thereof. It is under-powered, offering either a 1.1 GHz or 1.2 GHz processor, and either a 256 GB or 512 GB "hard drive" (flash storage).
It has a beautiful screen (retina), although we are unsure if it it fit for word-processing and web browsing today, due to the lack of a CPU and significant hard drive. In an era of iCloud technology, it should work fine.
The prices are phenomenal ($1299.00 or $1599.00 USD) for a 12-inch display.
For those looking to have the best top thing, it might be right.
A step back to 11", and you will look like a looser, having lost not just the extra inch, but more potentally, the readable display that has only been a fixture at Apple since the iPhone 5.
We mean Retina™, of course. And of course, we're excepting the 'Lisa.
Those wanting more vision (and depth) may prefer the MacBook Pro '15.
Yours,
JP
