A Better Bore: HIFIAkademie DiPol Loudspeaker
At 6000 EUR, the HIFIAkademie DiPol 2x15-8 Loudspeaker offers a better bore than your average university. A better bore than your average Di-pol loudspeaker, also.
Two Poles walk into the bar.
On the back, you'll see more reminiscent of Kyron Audio with their Kronos, than Emerald Physics with their CS 2.3, or Jamo with their R909.
Admittedly, the guise is the same, but the HIFIAkademie offers a much more of a Giselle take on the Pendulum, or a Giselle Brodsky take on the piano - much more miss bonnet than stripper pole - in the minuet manner of a Devialet stand.
As Giselle, it's ultimate partner is the High End GmbH Sovereign The Sovereign Monoblock Power Ampifier (129,990.00 EUR), aesthetically.
Fantas may point out that Giselle, ah er, HIFIAkademie DiPol 2x15-8 Loudspeaker better resembles the misadventures of Hawthorne Audio with her Ranier MK II, or better yet, Linkwitz with his LX521 but we remain sovereign in our statement. That's not a NAIM, mind you.
For what aesthetically renders down to two curves, plexiglass and a wizzer cone, you can't ask for better than this. For us, it's the most dainty, and yet the most Ovational of all loudspeakers. The partial exposure of the woofers is gorgeous to Behold.
What we have missed in all this is the similarity to Steinway Lyingdorf Model C amplifier module. The HIFIAkademie DiPol 2x15-8 Loudspeaker is essentially thinner, and more to the point!
Could you partner it with tube application? Most certainly. The implication that she is dainty and rack with refinement does not mean that she will not allow herself to be taken by a amp of the purvueof the Rike Audio Edzard ($490,000.00 USD) for that matter. The Goldmund Telos 5000 might be too much for her, or the WAVAC SH-833 ($350,000.00 USD) for that matter. Go low, and out of Analog Domain territory,
