What's the Point: The Revel Rhythm 2 Subwoofer Review

The Revel Rhythm 2 Subwoofer ($10,000.00 USD) was recently introduced to compliment the Revel Ultima Studio 2 and Salon 2 series loudspeakers. Can we say, what's the point?

Sure, the Rhythm Method was invented to prevent birth control, but what's the point of a subwoofer when you already have generous bass response? :)

The Studio 2's response extends to 33 Hz (+/- 3 db), whereas the Salon 2 extends to 23 Hz. Fantastic.

We suppose it's needed to extend SPL, for home theatre systems, although the Studio 2, on its own (recommended), is capable of stadium like presentation.

Not to be trite, but this product is likely made more to add to Revel's bottom line, than your own. They are not stack-able, nor are they visually appealing.

Lower bass notes would be interesting.

Both the Salon 2 and Studio 2 are already fine in the bass. Both offer fantastic reproduction in this region, and are capable of live presentation. Amazing.

Pop and electronica fans in particular will find them revealing.
