Today's Market

Let's examine the Intel Core i7-4770K and Intel i7-4990 CPU's, and compare to today's market.

Buying a GIC today, you'll receive a not much better rate on your dollar.

A "Better than Cash" 1-year at Coast Capital Savings nets 1.150% improvement. A 3-year, "Long Term" 1.600%. A 5-year, 1.900%.

Canadian inflation averaged 3.20 percent from 1915 until 2014, reaching an all time high of 21.60 percent in June of 1920 and a record low of -17.80 percent in June of 1921. As of December, 2014, it was 1.5%, 2.2% in November. Let's us not forget.Should it come back to 2%, investing a 1.6% is a 0.4% effective loss, or instead 1.5%, a 0.1% effective gain.

Such is the nature of today's market.

Hewlett-Packard Company (HPQ)Image result for gold silver bull

Today, HP was up  0.60%.  USD $38.38.
HPQ (NYSE) US$38.38 +0.23 (+0.60%)

We're noting the lucky 7 and 8, in the CPU,  however there's a 6 to go with the 9 the rates. :) No 6 to go with the 9 on the CPU.

Configuring an HP Envy 810qe on HP, there's a $30.00 difference between the processors, for 0.1 GHz (100 MHz) and 20 up (4770) on the model number. You loose the K, however. Herman Heisse would be proud.

We'd prefer some ore i7-477.

Nothing wrong with a good core.
