Holmes Makes It Right

Mike Holmes in a general contractor. His only interesting achievements (that we are aware of thus far), are the construction of a home with Florida-Pane (hurricane proof) glass in New Orleans, and the construction of a Car Garage, outside of his home.

We noted yesterday that he wears a chain of what appears to be white gold, of about $20,000.00 CDN. For the man, this is a good starter. A nice weight.

When you are faced with sub-standard components, what do you do to make it right? Take the grey B&O H3 in-ear headphone ($300.00 CDN, Commercial Electronics), for example. It goes well with a grey T-Shirt by Boys'co. But, this grey makes the Louis Vuitton Carre Persuasion ($700.00 CDN) look utterly cheap. It's not an Aviator by Bentley ($20K), in solid gold, after all.

The gold B&O in-ear headphone H3 ($200.00, Headphone Bar), which looks utterly cheap, on it's own, softens the shiny brass of the Louis Vuitton Persuasion - but what would Mike Holmes do? :)

He'd give you a tool belt, most likely, or a strap, with a belt, attached for worrying about such shit if you were working on his work site.

He'd build you a good home, or fix the one you have, if it happens to be sub-standard by his derision, were you a customer instead.

The moral of the story, is can you make great art, if you are faced with sub-standard components? The French chefs would say no today, but during the war, under Sartre, they sold cat and rat as haute cusine.

He prefers a softer light, the Holmes Guy.
