For the Stax owner, the iFi IDSD is the best DAC. It's no minimum standard. We say this lightly. It's digital input is pure and pristine. It's digital output is azure yellow, with no gold discoloration around the side. The screw is nice, to put it lightly, at $189.00 USD.
You'd find a better DAC is your home PC. That's not a coloration. The Intel on-board audio costs you nothing, and yet the iFI is superior. We recommend the iFI IDSD Nano for your Stax 007t2 amplifier. ($ USD).
