Pulling off the white chord to the Beats urBeats Space Grey Edition headphones, and removing the packaging, it felt like a wedding. Sure, the headphones were disappointing (back to the Apple Store), quickly to be replaced by the Alexander Wang version of the same thing for only $50 USD more, but there is something to the new purchase feel that gives one a rush.
Sort of like the Marley Uplift Grand In-Ear Sound Isolating Headphones (EM-JE033-GN - $39.99 USD) in Black and Gold. The spotty black center resembles a piano-roll of sorts, and the gold colour is re-assuring that you'll have something to wear.
Only the chord is disappointing - it's got something of a Nordic shoelace texture and vibe. You'll see this on otherwise nice products like the Cardas EM-5813 Ear Speaker, and the HiFiMan RE-600S In-Ear.
