The AKG K612 is a fine-tasting headphone. At $200, you could eat it up, and spit out the change.Remove your belt, however, and take off the headband. Let's talk about Jacob's ladder. The ear-cups could use some work.
The 612 K's got the same driver as the Q701, which we like as a general value-choice for the non-discriminating general listener. You'll have no complaints about the 3m cable (attached),
120 ohm impedance, in general, and 39.500 kHz to 12 Hz frequency response, in general too - and, since it's likely that they haven't heard the Stax 009, Sennheiser HD800, or Audeze LCD-3 either, no complaints about the liquidity, imaging, or the bass here.
You can spend more on a headphone cable than this, so we admire the kid who's got the courage to take the lowest-priced item in this market segment and make something of it.
