Where Gaming and Audio Meet: ATI 6000 Signature

Many of you in the IT community are familiar with ATI Technologies. Founded in 1985 in Ontario, Canada, it was bought by Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) in 1996.

We can remember un-fondly the ATI Mach 32 video chip released in 1992, and the VGA Wonder (1998) that proceeded it, which drove the unremarkable PC (DOS and Windows) software of that time. We're talking Monkey Island, folks.

So unremarkable then, was our experience with ATI technology solutions, that we skipped the Rage series and Fire series entirely, as many of you did, and became NVIDIA fans instead.

Now, October 22, 2010 was a special day. AMD (ATI) released their Raedon 6000 that day (Codename: Northern Islands / Vancouver), interestingly enough.

Now, November 5, 2014, post-Olympics, some 4 years later, we present the ATI 6000 Signature.

Designed by Morris Kessler, pound for point, it seems to be a heck of an amplifier. We have no word on whether it's bridgeable, but for $8000.00 USD a 7-channel version is readily available.
