AMR 77

For Compact Disk Playback, it doesn't get any better than this. The Abbingdon Music Research CD-77. It has a TEAC VRDS style disk housing, a Sony SCD-1 style disk loading, and a Marantz PRC style remote display. The AMR CD-77 is branded a Reference Class CD product by Abbingdon, and we will class this as a luxury eye-liner. We could nicker back and around, and say that we wanted a thicker puck (Wolfgang), a less ceramic looking CD chosen for the photo, without holes, please, in das puck, and a more illuminating display.

Regardless, should you be a PC (or Mac) enthusiast who has fond memories of inserting RAM, or otherwise, the internals and externals of the AMR CD-77 will give you much undue pleasure.

IT would be better if you were Abbingdon Music Research (AMR), this is what we always think when we see a product so broadly put together that it leads one to believe in progress and the warmth of technology.

The music through the AMR CD-77 is glorious, and should you be willing to invest in separates, it is not a bad way to live, musically. One can only have so much pleasure, without touching, looking and tasting.

The ritual of CD selection and the slow approach to living gives one much due pleasure.
