You are better off not slicing fruit, unless you are going to blend. Doing so will make the segments you slice taste dry, and off to for tongue. If you are going to eat, eat properly. There is some art to fruit slicing. Perhaps a water-melon can bear it, in terms of the tongue-feel, but even a single slice, can affect the pleasure of the eat.
