The German Canton Reference 1K Loudspeaker ($ ) is almost a UK B&W Matrix 801 Loudspeaker ($5,500.00 USD) for today.
That loudspeaker, the famed B&W Matrix 801 of yesteryear, perfect for the studio as a classical reference monitor in 90% of all cases, and suitable for the home (though we must say that the Bowers & Wilkins Matrix 800 Loudspeaker was superior in all cases, and the Carver Amazing Platinum IV Loudspeaker was much superior for reasons of dynamic range (see review)) (and the "tweeter on top") in actuality was based on the Elipson 4260 Blanc Loudspeaker of France of which today's B&W 800 D3 Loudspeaker is actually resemblement.
With the Canton Reference 1K Loudspeaker it is almost as if you are getting a JL Audio Gotham g213 Powered Subwoofer, each, on the bottom, with a d'apolito Duntech PCL-25 Loudspeaker ($ USD) on the top.
