Harbeth SuperHL5plus Loudspeaker Review

Is the Habeth SuperHL5plus Loudspeaker ($6,890.00 USD) $40? That's what you'd expect out the back of a garage sale bin. Sure, the tweeter looks nice (super tweeter, rather). And yes, the tweeter looks ok, and the bass unit / driver looks newer than what you'd see, typically, in such situation.

The question of perceived value enters in when one examines an object. Either the object looks nice, or it doesn't. If it looks nice, one is much more willing to accept the price.

The day before yesterday, we received a quote on some eye-shades. $29,550.00 CDN, or there abouts. A bit more than what we were expecting, but we accepted the price. The dealer informed us that one pair was available in London, and we were rather upset that he had not put them on hold. Egads.

After discovering that we could buy a Magico M5 Loudspeaker $89,000.00 USD) for $30,000.00 USD we thought we would want a pair of those, too. So we inquired about the price of two Cartier Aviators with the wood sides. Total cost: maybe $4,000.00 CDN.

To the average person, such a wooden side aviator might be worth $40.00. How about the Halberth?

We have so many Cartier, it's not funny. How about loudspeakers?

The super-tweeter is almost looking out at us like a pair of Bolle, or any inexpensive model with a nice smokey silver flash to the lens. Beautiful effect.
