Boulder 3060

When Anthony Cordesman writes, "I’m amazed by the extent to which this new generation of the very best amps and preamps really does outpace the other elements in a high-end system and does approach the absolute sound," he is very well right.

They very well -do- approach The Absolute Sound. they do so via his doorstep.
Boulder 2150 Mono Power Amplifier and 2110 Preamplifier

It is a very nice arrangement. At $98,000 USD for the Power Amplifier (2050) and $54,000.00 USD for the Pre-Amplifier (2110), we could review and purchase both ($152K), but it would not make much sense. We'd rather put that into a watch with more hand / index alignment than our Hugo Boss quartz - something like the Omega Speedmaster Pro in platinum on platinum.

Speaking of which, Boulder has been making no-nonsense high-end amplifiers and components for some time now. There was a rumour that they were leaving Colorado, but they haven't. They have lost some of their gusto with the arrival of their 3050 monoblocks, but re-gained an upper-end.

The Boulder 3060 (2050 + 2110) is not a bad combination, but it is butt-ugly, as is the 3050 set.

To say that Boulder does not have balls is not-withholding. That they have some is under-stated.

We'll look at Anthony's statement and see exactly how well (in MHz) the amps and pre-amps (think Mooka Mooka), of today outpace streamers, DAC's and Speakers. (It's off to the races).

We will not disagree that they "approach the absolute sound."
"Yay, Boulder!" TPP

Thanks, Anthony!
