The Vault

Last night we joked about corporal punishment. Our audio twins, Summer and Rain, are both Corporals. We joke about them being Lance Corporals - ah the tribe - often.

Now, in Canada, the Corporal's insignia is the opposite of the vault. Same with the Private's, for that matter. Your US insignia's are a little more curved - more pre-volcanic.

In real-estate, it's about location, location.

Having a good home in a good space (with good neighbours, for that matter) determines your price and value per location.

In audio, it's all about space and acoustics.

The vaulted ceiling (along with the sloping auditorium roof setup) is one aspect that will help make a room appeal to the audio enthusiast.

Yesterday, we were tempted to post photos of a Malibu home (which we will get to further), but let's look at Kelly Benismon's (Real Housewives of New York) recently sold $12M listing. (Last ask: $5.5M, Sale: $5.76M). It's got a vaulted ceiling.

Here's Kelly, beside her home. It's middle-class, but in a good location, hence the price. In Vancouver, on West Point Grey, it would be between $10M and $20M, though it could go to $30M, depending on the lot.

In shopping, it's often about discount. You'll find sales in hi-fi around boxing day, typically.

The lot size is actually quite large, for Vancouver standards. More Abbotsford, we would say. Though it's appropriate for our Southlands, near UBC.

You could be a bit fun, and put Magico S3's (a small speaker) on each side of this TV "stand" behind the lamps in the Benismon Malibu home.

The kitchen is spacious, and some KEF could go at the end.

Here we are. Where the white chairs are, you could put some KEF Reference 207/2's, in red.

This particular bedroom could fit Focal Grande Utopia's in white, should you be endowed.

This particular bedroom is perfect, without.

Here's a particular room roughly suitable for an office, though the bed is chagrin - Move some bookshelves in! The ceiling is a bit low, and could use a cupola, and a bit of a raise, we'd say.

Speaking of low, this room could use some Tannoy. Something like the Kingdom Royal, though we were thinking more Canteburry GR, yet shorter.

Here's one for Avalon.

We found this listing in The Wall Street Journal.
