We have to wonder to ourselves what are we doing buying a Teac AH01-S Stereo Amplifier with DA converter. Isn't it already out-dated? That's a bit like ourselves, really. We started shopping as an activity (and this magazine) actually after one year of dating.
After tallying our expenses beyond our usual, we found that dating had cost $28,000 / year. It should be more, mind you, but we chose places like Cin Cin, Hyes Encore, and Cactus Club, among others. This meant that, averaging 3 dates a week, we were able to bring the additional cost down to around $78 / day, which is why we didn't notice the expense.
At the end of the year, however, noticing that we hadn't even purchased a $10,000 GIC, or a small pair of diamonds, to see we decided to take up shopping.
Now a single Gucci men's toque is about $300 + tax, so the expense of shopping is 3x that of dating. It's more rewarding, however, but that is our polite opinion.
Noting that the Teac AH01-S's knob is a bit bigger than that of the Teac UD-H01, which we purchased, it seems a good thing.
