Reader Survey

What does a $300 bottle of wine taste like? We imagine a $3000 bottle tastes quite nice. We won't drink until we can afford $100,000 bottles, but dear reader, please tell us clear: how does wine at this price point, taste.

We imagine you, dear reader, are confident in drinking this level of table-wine most regularly - almost with split precision. We imagine if you are shelling out $30,000 for a top-cable, a mere 300x300 or $90,000 USD or so in house wine yearly would be your leisurely prerogative.

It's a funny question for us.

We consider ourselves knowledgeable about so much, yet we won't even shell out a single $300 CDN for a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue, and we love whiskey, and we love to walk.  We consider it not worth more than $80 at home - about double a more or less august affair.

There are elements of taste that strike out at you. Invade your being. Bring you to places far distant, and yet surreally present. Elements of taste that are habitually comforting and yet emfatuating, none at the present.

How do you spend your time? How do you like your wine? How, dear reader, does a $300 bottle taste? It's a question for us that we hope will bring us closer to you - the connoisseur of all things, value.
