VPI Traveller - 2012

Product: VPI Traveler Turntable
Price: $1499.00 USD
Available: Music Direct www.musicdirect.com

With the VPI Traveler, you're about to pay $1000 for the arm, and $500 for the table.

We like the Italian colours of the cartridge lead covers. We note the Gay Rainbow shades of the record. And see what appear to be soft, wobbly feet.

We've had a VPI HW-19 Mk IV already. With an Eminent Technology ET-2 Air Bearing Tonearm. A VPI Speed-Control unit. A Lyra Clavis Da Cappo (DC) Cartridge. An upgraded Pump and Air Capacitor. We paid $1500.00 - bargain - total retail, $10,000.

Even with a YBA Integra for a playback setup, with Blue Note Re-issue series heavy vinyl LP's, it didn't sound solid, or good, acoustically.

Madonna DJ pressings (one track per side), were better, however Gold CD's still had better value.

Perhaps the Traveler has a better arm, and cartridge's today, are better than the Lyris DC. :)

We doubt it, but a turn-table as low as $1000.00 can sound musical and fine.

Rating: N/A
